What Should I Do Before My Lash Lift Appointment?
To ensure the best results from your lash lift treatment, follow these simple preparation steps:
Be prepared to avoid heat and steam for 24 hours post treatment:
This includes:
- Hot, steamy showers (you can still shower - just make it quick and don't let the water be super hot - steamy bathroom right after a lash lift is a no-go!)
- Washing, blowdrying or heat styling your hair or being in a hair salon (do all your hair prep prior to your appointment if needed)
- Sauna, solariums, facials, hot yoga, intense workouts (fresh lash lifts are affected by intense heat and steam)
- Opening the oven, cooking over the stove, cooking or standing close to BBQ's, Korean BBQ (you can come to us when you need an excuse to get the night off cooking duties)
- Sleeping on your lashes (pressure on your lashes will affect your results, especially in the initial 24 hours when they are still sensitive)
It is recommended to keep your lashes dry and untouched for 24 hours where possible, though where necessary they can be washed or wet however avoid any heat in the water as the heat and steam is what can directly affect your lash lift results - not the water itself.
Be as gentle and careful with your fresh lashes in this initial 24 hours post treatment to allow for optimal long-term results.
Ensure lash extension are completely removed at least 2 days prior to your lash lift appointment:
Lash lifts cannot be performed on lash extensions, if you have any remaining lash extension please ensure complete removal prior to your appointment.
We do not provide lash extension removals.
Lash extension removals is a treatment that will need to take place at least 2 days prior to lash lift treatment as the removal process involves products that dehydrate and strip the lashes of natural oils meaning there is minimal barrier on the lashes which will effect the way in which the lash lift products react to your lashes.
Skip waterproof mascara 2 days prior to your lash lift appointment:
Waterproof mascara formulas can leave a film on your lashes that may interfere with the lash lift products and overall results and longevity.
Opt for a non-waterproof mascara in the days leading up to your appointment instead.
Avoid using a lash curler on the day of your appointment:
Using a lash curler on the day of your appointment can hinder the process to accurately assess your natural lash posture that is part of the process to configure your suitable lash lift style.
We will still be able to proceed with the treatment if you have used a curler on the day of your appointment, but where avoidable, please refrain from it.
By following these steps, you'll set the stage for beautiful, long-lasting lash lift results. If you have any other questions or need specific advice, feel free to reach out to us before your appointment!
